Costa Concordia wreckage

March 22, 2012

The Costa Concordia struck rocks off Italy on January 13 with about 3,200 passengers and 1,000 crew members on board.

The Italian cruise ship that wrecked in January is still being cleaned up. Officials say five more bodies have been found and 2 of the roughly 4200 passengers aboard the ship are still missing. This wreck was a disaster, but workers have been working daily to clean up the oil spill and find missing bodies in the water. I think steps should be taken to decrease the chances of things like this happening because with modern day technology scientists should be able to prevent such disasters. Oil spills like this have a devastating effect on the ecosystem, and I think more time and money should be spent in preventing disasters such as this one.
