Oral History of Sitting Bull

February 2, 2012

  Sitting Bull

This oral history project was completed by a company named “Reel Contact”. Reel Contact is a company that has many books written on Native Americans and their history. The purpose of this oral history project was to tell the legendary story of the great Sioux war chief Sitting Bull. The audience is any one that visits the website wanting to learn more about Native Americans and their history. I learned that an oral history assignment is basically a documentary in audio instead of written. I didn’t learn much about this topic, because I all ready know so much about this Native American war chief (being that I am a Native American Studies Minor). I think that doing oral histories is essential to academic data and that data should be presented in more than just writing. Oral history projects make the assignment a bit more interesting. Also, I personally think oral history assignments will help the audience better understand the data one is trying to present.
